Needs and Wants
For Kids: What is the difference between needs and wants?
Needs are goods or services that are essential in our day-to-day life. Examples of needs might include sufficient food to eat, warm clothing to wear as needed, and a place to live with a roof over your head. These are things we all need to survive comfortably.
Wants are goods and services that we don't actually need but we do want. Examples of wants might include a super large pizza just for you - so large you can't even eat it all, or a pair of very expensive brand name sneakers, or a luxury bedroom suite with a private bath and a large deck overlooking the ocean. Nice to have for some, but you do not really need any of these things to survive. What one person wants might be very different from what another person wants.
